It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Monday’s schedule.
Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Angels – 4:07 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners rank second in the AL West with an 80-65 record. However, they’ve lost three straight games, all three to the Los Angeles Angels. Tonight, they’ll send out the 12-6 Logan Gilbert to hopefully earn a win to close the series. Gilbert has an ERA of 3.19 over 166.2 innings and gives them a good chance to win.
The Los Angeles Angels won’t be heading to the postseason but they’ve done well recently. Over their last five games, the Angels have a 3-2 record with solid performances against Seattle. On the mound for the Angels is Jose Suarez, who is 6-7 with an ERA of 3.84. We’ll take the Mariners on the road at -140 in this one.
Houston Astros vs. Tampa Bay Rays – 6:40 PM ET
With a record of 96-51, the Houston Astros are first in the AL West. On the mound for them tonight is the 12-8 Luis Garcia, who has a 4.04 ERA. Although they don’t have the best pitcher, they have a slight edge at the plate. Houston has a team batting average of .248 while the Tampa Bay Rays have a .243 average.
The Tampa Bay Rays have a record of 82-64 and are third in the AL East right now. Drew Rasmussen will get the start for the Rays and has a record of 10-5 with a 2.77 ERA. With a better pitcher on the mound, we’ll take the Tampa Bay Rays at home -120.
Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves – 7:20 PM ET
The Washington Nationals are 2-3 over their last five games and face a formidable opponent today. With Cory Abbott on the mound, the Nationals aren’t equipped to deal with the Atlanta Braves. What we will say is the Nationals have a strong batting group that’s hitting .251 this season.
Getting the start for the Braves is Kyle Wright, who has an 18-5 record this season. With an ERA of 3.18, Wright is easily one of the best pitchers for the Braves. Atlanta also has a team batting average of .253, one of the best in the league. Go with the Braves at home at -355.
New York Mets vs. Milwaukee Brewers – 7:40 PM ET
With four straight wins under their belt, the New York Mets prepare to face the Milwaukee Brewers. To be fair, those wins were against the Pittsburgh Pirates, not quite a strong opponent. On the mound for the Mets tonight is Max Scherzer, who has a 9-4 record with a 2.26 ERA. The Mets have a team batting average of .258, ranking fifth in the league.
The Milwaukee Brewers come into this game after a 12-8 loss to the New York Yankees. On the mound for them is Corbin Burnes, one of their best pitchers. Burnes has a record of 10-7 this season with an ERA of 2.97. Although they have a good starting pitcher on the mound, we’ll take the Mets on the road -110.
San Francisco Giants vs. Colorado Rockies – 8:40 PM ET
Our final game of the day is one situated in the NL West. The San Francisco Giants, with a record of 69-77 will face the Colorado Rockies (64-82). Ranking third and fifth respectively, each of these teams is trying to end the season on a high note. The Giants are sending out 4-6 Jakob Junis, who has a 4.15 ERA this season.
The Rockies have named the 6-9 Chad Kuhl to be their starter for this game. Kuhl has an ERA of 5.33 but pitching isn’t the way the Rockies will win this game. Instead, they’ll rely on their batting which has an average of .256 to win. We’ll go with the Colorado Rockies over the Giants at +105.
