Tennessee Boxing Betting – Local Boxing Info

Tennessee is home to many historic boxing venues throughout the state, all with their own unique flair. Whether you’re at the Cotton Eyed Joe in Knoxville, the Chattanooga Convention Center, or Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, there are plenty of excellent locations statewide to take in a fight.

Ashland City native Caleb Plant has held the IBF super-middleweight title since January 2019. Ryan Martin, a super lightweight pugilist, resides in Chattanooga and boasts a 24-1 record. His lone loss was a seventh-round TKO against Josh Taylor.

At the time of the fight, Taylor was ranked second in the world, while Martin was ranked 135th. He currently holds the No. 33 ranking in the U.S.

Tennessee Boxing Betting – How to Bet

The most common type of boxing bet is a wager made on the moneyline. Moneyline bets involve picking a boxer to win the match, with differing odds based on how heavily favored or how big an underdog the fighter is.

For example, the betting odds on the boxing fight night card may read “Fighter A (+225) vs. Fighter B (-300).” In this case, Fighter A is a big underdog (as denoted by the “+” symbol), and Fighter B is a heavy favorite (a “-“ sign will always appear next to the favorite).

A $100 bet on Fighter A would pay $225 if he won the bout, while a bet on the favorite of $300 would only scoop $100 if Fighter B won.

Because there are usually many fights on the card for a given fight night, another betting option is to pet a “parlay.” In a parlay, you are choosing multiple results to happen, further enhancing your winnings.

Usually, you would need to bet anywhere from four to six fights to make your parlay bet, with escalating winnings as each result hits. However, the big risk of a parlay bet (which is also why payouts are so large) is that one loss by a given fighter could cost you the entire bet.

Main events may offer additional “prop bet” options. These could include whether a fight or TKO occurs or the fight ends with a judges’ decision, the round in which a knockout occurs, or which fighter has a higher rate of punches landed.

Whether parlay betting or moneyline betting, it is critical you study the fighters beforehand. Know their styles, strengths, weaknesses, and how the fight odds have been trending leading up to the event.
