NBA Recap: Mavericks vs New Orleans Pelicans – 12/22/25

On Monday, December 22, 2025, the Dallas Mavericks visited the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The Pelicans won the game 119-113. This win was significant for the Pelicans as they fought hard to secure it. Zion Williamson played a big role for the Pelicans. He scored 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. For the Mavericks, Anthony Davis had a good game with 35 points and 17 rebounds. Despite his efforts, the Mavericks fell short.

In the first quarter, the Pelicans edged out the Mavericks with a 36-34 lead. The second quarter saw Dallas bounce back, outscoring New Orleans 29-21. At halftime, the Mavericks held a 63-57 lead.

The third quarter was low-scoring, with Dallas maintaining their lead by adding 24 points to New Orleans’ 22. However, the Pelicans surged in the fourth quarter, scoring 40 points compared to the Mavericks’ 26. This comeback secured a 119-113 win for New Orleans.

 

Anthony Davis led the Dallas Mavericks with a strong performance. He scored 35 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. His shooting was efficient, making 16 out of 28 attempts.

For the New Orleans Pelicans, Zion Williamson was a key player. He scored 24 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Zion made 10 of his 14 shots, helping his team secure the win.

Derik Queen also contributed significantly for the Pelicans. He added 19 points and 11 rebounds to the team’s effort. His all-around play included 6 assists and solid shooting.
