Tennessee Sportsbook David vs Goliath

Tina Hodges Discusses Action 24/7 Sportsbook

As our startup company continues to grow, Tina Hodges, president of Action 247, hopes this year’s Super Bowl tops 2021’s action. Action247 has and will always have a David vs. Goliath business attitude.

In 2020, Nashville’s Action 24/7 was licensed as one of the first four operators in Tennessee along with BetMGM, FanDuel and DraftKings. In 2021, four more sportsbooks were added – Caesars, TwinSpires, WynnBet and Barstool. In January, Wagr joined the lineup for a total of nine.

Action’s biggest competitors are publicly traded and international, and they have no issue dropping huge costs on a single Super Bowl TV commercial. It’s just insane how much money they’re spending. In the long run, we’re attempting to operate a successful and profitable company.

At Action 247, we have a certain quirk that we’re executing. We sponsor more community events, such as the Cotton Eyed Joe in Knoxville with boxing and UFC fighting battles. We’re right there supporting all of the fighters and have our name on the ring, I love our local book. Everyone knows it’s difficult battling against giants, but we are doing amazing work.

Deposits are continuing to rise and we have so many people enjoying our local cash deposit and withdrawals, with our Advance Financial 24/7 partnership. We’re the first and only (business) in the state with this service, and customers love it.

I don’t think there’s any startups that go into their first year thinking they’ll be successful. So I’m really happy with our first-year results.
