History of the Minnesota United FC

Minnesota United FC, also known as the “Loons”, is a professional soccer team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The team was founded in 2010 and eventually began playing in the North American Soccer League (NASL) in 2011.

In 2017, Minnesota United FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the league’s 22nd franchise. The team plays its home games at Allianz Field, a state-of-the-art facility in Saint Paul. Additionally, they are part of the Western Conference.

Since joining MLS, Minnesota United FC has steadily improved and qualified for the playoffs for the first time in 2019. Additionally, they have advanced to the Conference Semifinals.
