2021 Big 12 Football Betting Odds and Lines

Big 12 football sports betting

The Big 12 is basically a 2-3 team race in the 2021 College Football season. As usual, the Oklahoma Sooners start the season as the team to beat in the conference. The Sooners were ranked #2 in the latest AP Poll and ranked #3 in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll.

There are three Big 12 teams ranked in the AP Top 25 to start the season, and four teams in the Top 25 on the coaches poll. Let’s take a look at the betting odds and lines for the top 3 teams in the Big 12.

Oklahoma Sooners | Big 12 Favorite at -169

The Oklahoma Sooners aren’t just favored to win the Big 12, they are easily a top 5 team in the nation regardless of what poll you’re looking at or who you are talking to. Oklahoma has -169 betting odds at Action247 Sportsbook, making them the favorite by a wide margin.

Action247 Sportsbook also has the Sooners regular-season win total set at 11.5. Under 11.5 doesn’t pay much at -213, but betting the over provides bettors more favorable odds at -115.

Oklahoma’s odds to win the College Football Playoff and National Championship are at +2900. Those odds are very high for the #2 team in the nation. Especially a #2 team that is returning a Heisman Trophy betting favorite in 2021.

Spencer Rattler has +650 odds to win the Heisman this season. The sophomore quarterback finished the 2020 season with a 67.5% completion percentage and 3,031 yards passing. Rattler threw 28 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. He also averaged over 10 yards per attempt.

Rattler and the Sooners are most certainly poised for a great 2021 NCAA Football season. +2900 and -169 odds to win the National Championship and the Big 12 Championship are looking very attractive heading into Week 1.

Iowa State Cyclones | 2nd Best Odds to Win the Big 12 at +300

Action247 Sportsbook has the Cyclones regulate season win total set at 9.5. The odds for over 9.5 wins is at -149 and the under is at -164. Iowa State has the 2nd best odds to win the Big 12 conference at +300 and their odds to win the National Championship are +2900.

+2900 odds to win the National Title are incredibly high for a team that is ranked #7 in the AP Top 25 and #8 in USA Today’s Coaches Poll. The +2900 is so good, you should think about throwing a unit or two on it just in case.

The Cyclones have a possible Heisman and NFL Draft candidate of their own returning to the field in 2021. While it’s tough for running backs to win the Heisman, junior running back Breece Hall will attempt to do just that in 2021.

Hall led the FBS with 1,752 yards from scrimmage last season. He had over 1,500 yards on the ground alone. Hall finished the season with 23 touchdowns, 21 of them on the ground.

Brock Purdy returns under center and looks to continue his excellent play in his senior year. Purdy has racked up nearly 9,000 passing yards in his Iowa State career, including being 18 yards short of 4,000 in 2019. Brock threw for 2,750 last season.

Texas Longhorns | Longshot Odds at +800 to Win Big 12

Texas heads into Week 1 of the 2021 season ranked #21 in the AP Top 25 and #19 in the Coaches Poll. Still, as good as Oklahoma and Iowa State are going to be, Action247 Sportsbook has them at +800 odds, the 3rd best in the Big 12.

The Longhorns are a longshot to win the Big 12 Championship, but they are worth a look at +800. Action247 has Texas’ regular-season win total set at 7.5 wins. Over 7.5 wins pays at -238 odds and under 7.5 is at -105.

Their odds to win the National Championship are at +9900. Worth a unit or two? Maybe, but it is a serious desperation bet. That being said, you could look like a genius if Steve Sarkisian is able to lead his group to the title game.

After spending a few seasons as an assistant and interim coach at Alabama, Sark returns to head coach for the first time since being at USC in 2015. He is 46-35 in his head coaching career and has won the Holiday Bowl twice. Once with Washington and once with USC. He is 2-2 in Bowl games in his career.

Texas is set to have a good season and may very well hit over 7.5 wins, but the odds they win the Championship, National or Big 12, are slim.
