2023 French Open: Things Begin to Shake Up

The 2023 French Open is underway and there have been some changes to the ranking After last week’s 2023 Italian Open, players have been moved around, and things have been shaken up. Today, we will discuss some of these changes and what it means for the 2023 French Open.

Daniil Medvedev Shakes Things Up

Going into the 2023 French Open, many thought Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic would be the two players to meet in the finals. However, things changed after the 2023 Italian Open. This year’s winner of the Italian Open was Daniil Medvedev. As a result, he earned the number two ranking in the French Open. This means that the previous number two, Novak Djokovic will be pushed down to number three.

Although it might not seem like a huge deal to be bumped down a seed, it actually affects a lot. Rather than meeting in the finals like many thought, Alcaraz and Djokovic will meet during the semi-finals. That all depends on if they both make it there. Either player and be bumped out of the tournament before then.

2023 French Open Injuries

Another thing to consider for this year’s 2023 French Open is that Novak Djokovic is injured. He recently spoke about the elbow injury that has taken him out of a few previous tournaments. He is quoted saying, “My elbow is not in an ideal shape but good enough to be ready for the first match.” Although Djokovic claims to be ready for this year’s French Open at Roland-Garros, we will have to see it hold up against some of the fiercest competition.

All in all, we look forward to seeing what this year’s 2023 French Open will bring for the men’s division. If we are certain about one thing, it’s that there will be a lot of action!
