The NBA is alive and kicking tonight after several upsets on Tuesday. This will make things interesting for the lineup of games in the middle of the week, although several contests seem easy to call.
Miami Heat over Los Angeles Lakers (-323)
The Miami Heat will host the Los Angeles Lakers in a meeting in which the gold and purple could continue to stick their heads out. Between the fact that the visitors are one of the franchises that has won the first quarter the most times this season and that the Heat rarely prevail in the initial set of games, the Lakers will get off to a good start.
L.A. beat the Orlando Magic last night in a game they weren’t expected to win. However, they have been on an unusual roller-coaster ride lately, and taking two games back-to-back won’t be easy. They’re likely to be a little winded from last night’s performance, which will give the Heat and Jimmy Butler a chance to shine.
Denver Nuggets over Sacramento Kings (-149)
The Denver Nuggets just picked up a key win in their first match against the Sacramento Kings, which also gave them their fifth straight victory. Denver now sits at the top of the Western Conference with 22 wins and 11 losses.
The Kings are going to be out for revenge after the 113-106 loss last night. They’re going to try to recover quickly but haven’t been consistent enough to be a threat. They are now seventh in the Western, at 17-15, and 6-7 in the conference.
This game will likely be almost an identical rematch to last night’s contest.
Detroit Pistons over Orlando Magic (+100)
The Orlando Magic suffered a brutal defeat at the hands of the Lakers Tuesday night after going in as the clear favorites. That raised some flags, and their performance tonight could suffer, as well.
Orlando meets the Detroit Pistons on the road, where they haven’t been successful – the Magic all 4-12 straight up playing away from home.
The Pistons have an advantage tonight, as they didn’t have to play yesterday. At home and well-rested, and with a superior home court record against the Magic, all signs point to an underdog win.
