Remember how we told you the Calgary Flames have a tendency to play down to their opponent’s level not too long ago? Enter the Anaheim Ducks: one of the worst teams in sports not named the Toronto Maple Leafs, a team Calgary defeated 3-2 in overtime back on December 23rd.

On most nights, Calgary plays many one-goal games and doesn’t have the finishing skill or offensive firepower to explode for four or five goals. The Flames are averaging 3.0 goals per game, while the Ducks average 2.5 goals per game.

The under is 5-1-1 in the last seven games and 6-0-2 in the Ducks’ last eight games against a team with a losing record. The Flames have a 2-3 over/under record in the last five games. The under is 11-5-1 in the last 17 meetings.

The Flames should win this game and need to win this game, but they are playing a team of the caliber and ranking they have struggled with this season. Whether Calgary drops the ball against Anaheim or not, this game shouldn’t crack six total goals.

Chicago Blackhawks +2.5 over Florida Panthers (-125)

Why, yes, our dear regular parlay blog reader, we are featuring two of the worst teams in sports in our parlay blog. We’re not crazy because a 2.5-goal spread is a lot to cover in the NHL.

Especially when the Chicago Blackhawks have been playing well enough for a 5-5 straight-up record in the last ten games. Three of the losses in the last ten games were by three goals or more.

The Panthers have hit the under in five straight games while having three wins by at least three goals in the last ten games.

Florida hasn’t been great defensively this season, averaging 3.3 goals per game, which could give the Blackhawks’ league-worst offense more opportunity to score and keep this game within two goals until the end.

We’re taking the Blackhawks to cover the very large 2.5-goal spread against the offensively talented but defensively weak Florida Panthers.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Philadelphia 76ers Under 232.0 (-115)

Did we take the 76ers game for the bit? Maybe.

However, it’s more important that one of the most puzzling regulars on the parlay blog return and prove that they are a team we can believe in. We don’t want to toss the 76ers in the jawn just yet.

The 76ers have a 35-29-1 over/under record this season, while the Trail Blazers have a 30-35-1 over/under record.

Portland has faced a total points line of 231.0 points or higher in the last ten games, posting a 4-6 over/under record. Our crew in Philly has only faced total points lines of 231.0 or higher three times in the last ten games, posting a 2-1 over/under record while having a 4-5-1 over/under record in the last ten games.

When Portland and Philly met out west, they combined for 200 points, hitting the under by 35 points. However, the over is 8-2 in the last ten meetings overall.

We’re siding with statistics on this one and taking the Trail Blazers and 76ers to hit the under of 232.0 total points.
