We woke up nice and warm, as yesterday we created a same-game parlay around our black and gold safety blanket, the Boston Bruins. However, our toes were a little cold.

The Boston Bruins defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1, giving us wins on the moneyline and the total/goals. However, a one-goal game means the Bruins did not cover the spread, and our same-game parlay was unsuccessful.

Because the Bruins could not find the empty net goal that we predicted would cover the spread, our blog championship remains with the house and drops last week’s record to 1-5-1 but 10-10-1 on individual picks.

We start a new week in pursuit of the parlay blog championship with this multi-game parlay:

Memphis Grizzlies over Atlanta Hawks (-130)  

We’re starting the week with a little home-state cooking.

The Grizzlies have won five straight games and have an 8-2 record in the last ten games. The Hawks have alternated wins and losses in the last five games, going 3-2, and have a 4-6 record in the last ten.

Memphis won the first matchup 128-103 on December 12.

Atlanta’s defense will get eaten alive by the Grizzlies’ offense. Take Memphis.

Boston Bruins vs Carolina Hurricanes Under 6.0 (-120)

This one will be close and low-scoring. Our beloved Bruins have a 4-6 over/under record in the last ten games and a 30-37-5 over/under record overall.

The Hurricanes are 5-5 over/under in the last ten games and have a 31-37-3 over/under record overall.

Both teams played yesterday, pushing us toward a 3-2 final and taking the under.

Vancouver Canucks over Chicago Blackhawks (-175)

The Vancouver Canucks have won two straight games, four of the last five games, and are 8-2 straight-up in the last ten. The Chicago Blackhawks have lost four straight games and have a 3-7 straight-up record (3-6-1) in the last ten.

Vancouver is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall and 5-2 in the last seven games in Chicago and won the only matchup this season.
