Sometimes, when we search the odds for some of the more difficult and evenly matched games on the daily schedule and construct our daily parlay, we hear Pat Benetar’s 80s anthem, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot.” Bentar rings through our ears, especially when we feel marginally confident in our picks.

We challenged the Tampa Bay Lightning to hit us with their best shot, siding with the Carolina Hurricanes on yesterday’s same-game parlay. The Lightning fired away and fired back in a big way, responding to a 6-0 loss in the last matchup, giving the Hurricanes payback, winning 4-0.

Same-game parlays can be cruel, as we went 0-3 last night, expecting the Hurricanes to show up and be competitive. Our weekly parlay record is 0-3 while going 3-6 on individual picks.

Philadelphia 76ers over Dallas Mavericks (-175)

The Dallas Mavericks haven’t been great recently, losing four of the last five and going 3-7 in the last ten games. Philly hasn’t been great recently, losing the last three games but going 6-4 in the last ten.

Dallas might have won the first meeting 133-126 on March 2. However, the Mavericks are 15-23 on the road, while the 76ers are 26-11 at home.

Memphis Grizzlies over LA Clippers (-169)

Home state cooking!

The Grizzlies are 33-5 in Tennesse, while the Clippers are 19-18 on the road and down Paul George. The Clippers won the first meeting this season on March 5, but the Grizzlies are the better and healthier team.

Toronto Maple Leafs over Florida Panthers (-149)

As always, the Toronto Maple Leafs suck as a general rule but are better than the Florida Panthers, having won three of the last five games and going 6-4 in the last ten.

The Panthers have lost four straight games but are 5-5 in the last ten.

Toronto has won the two previous matchups this season and has a 25-7-5 home record, while Florida is 15-19-3 on the road.
