The first week of 2023 continues in the NBA with 12 games scheduled in the NBA. In the meantime, the NHL features three games on the slate for Wednesday.

Some key games are the Brooklyn Nets visiting the Toronto Raptors in an Atlantic Division clash, and the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Miami Heat. Lastly, we have the Tampa Bay Lightning traveling to face the Minnesota Wild in what should be a physical and fast contest. These matchups also present an excellent parlay opportunity for anyone looking to combine picks from the two leagues.

Leg One: Brooklyn Nets -5 over Toronto Raptors (-110)

Brooklyn has won 12 straight games. Not only that, but they’re also the best shooting team in the NBA at 51.2%. They’re also second in three-point shooting at 39.2 %. In the end, they’re 5-1 against the spread in the previous six games.

Chicago allowed Donovan Mitchell to score 71 on Monday, and they don’t have much depth, with only three players averaging double figures.

Leg Two: Tampa Bay Lightning over Minnesota Wild (-105)

This should be a great matchup between two teams playing well. However, the value for Tampa Bay looks better in this contest. Tampa is 9-2 in its previous 11 games and doesn’t look to be slowing down for anyone.

They’re third in the league in goals scored per game and fifth on the power play. Tampa also has better numbers in most other offensive categories than Minnesota. In this game, it will also snap its nine-game road losing streak against the Wild.

Leg Three: Los Angeles Lakers (+5) over Miami Heat (-105)

The Lakers ended their recent road trip with two wins in Atlanta and Charlotte. They had LeBron James scoring 47 and 43 points in the victories. He’s questionable for tonight’s game but has been very efficient. He is shooting over 61% in both contests.

However, assuming James plays, the Lakers will cover the spread. They face a road-weary Heat team and are likely to win this one outright at home.
