The NBA and NHL continue to ramp up as we move through the year’s first half. With a few big games scheduled, let’s look at how we think three matches will play out.

Winnipeg Jets (+115) over Seattle Kraken

The Winnipeg Jets are on the road again and this time they’re facing the Seattle Kraken. With a record of 8-4-1, the Jets look like one of the best teams in the league. On average, they’re putting up just 3.08 goals per game. The real secret to their success, however, is their defense which is allowing only 2.39 goals per game.

The Seattle Kraken is coming off a 1-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild. In fact, each of these teams are coming off a loss in their most recent game. The Kraken are lucky in this scenario because they’re playing at home. The Jets have to travel from Calgary to Seattle in just a day. Still, the Jets are our pick to win this game at +115.

Golden State Warriors (-4) over Sacramento Kings

After a significantly long losing streak, the Golden State Warriors have won their last two games. However, they have an 0-6 record on the road this season, which is a cause for concern. Still, they pulled off an impressive 106-101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers just a few nights ago. They’re also only four-point favorites in tonight’s game, which helps a lot.

The Sacramento Kings are coming off two straight wins as well. Their most recent game was a 120-114 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. De’Aaron Fox leads the team in points per game at 25.9 and the team has a record of 5-6. However, they’re 2-3 at home and we think they’ll have trouble guarding the Warriors shooters. Take Golden State at -4 in this game.

Brooklyn Nets (-4) over Los Angeles Lakers

After going 4-1 in their last five games, the Brooklyn Nets have a record of 6-7 now. They’re 3-3 on the road this season and have won their last two games. Tonight, they’ll face the Los Angeles Lakers, one of the worst teams in the league. The Nets have a few players that are out at the moment, however. Seth Curry and Kyrie Irving are just a few sidelined players.

The Los Angele Lakers have a 2-10 record this season and are 2-5 at home. It’s been a tough start to the season and both Anthony Davis and LeBron James are questionable. Because of this, we’ll take the Kevin Durant-led Brooklyn Nets at -4.
