The NBA and NHL continue to ramp up as we move through the first half of the year. With a few big games scheduled, let’s take a look at how we think three games will play out.

Brooklyn Nets (-1.5) over Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have lost back-to-back games this season. Now, they’ll head out on the road to face Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. One of the main problems is the Bulls have several players sidelined at the moment. Zach LaVine is currently listed as “day-to-day” and could miss this game. If he’s out, it will hurt the Bulls’ chances to win even more.

The Brooklyn Nets are coming off a big win over the Indiana Pacers last night. It’s been a tough year for the Nets but last night could be a turning point for them. They won the game 116-109 and Kevin Durant led the team with 36 points. In our opinion, the Nets are the obvious choice and should cover the 1.5-point spread.

Golden State Warriors (-1) over Miami Heat

The Golden State Warriors have a record of 3-4 this season but are a shocking 0-3 on the road. In their last game, they lost 128-114 to the Detroit Pistons of all teams. They only have one player on the sideline so injuries aren’t a problem. Now, they’ll head out to Miami to face a struggling Heat team.

The Miami Heat are 2-5 and have a 1-3 record at home. Miami is essentially in the same boat as the Golden State Warriors. They’ve lost their last two games as well, the most recent being to the Sacramento Kings. The important part is prior to that, they lost to the Golden State Warriors 123-110. Because of this, we’ll take the Warriors at -1 over the Miami Heat.

New Jersey Devils (-120) over Vancouver Canucks

With a 6-3-0 record this season, the New Jersey Devils are dominating the game. They’re averaging 3.44 goals per game while only giving up 2.56. This team is playing remarkably well and has won their last three games. Today, they’ll face the Vancouver Canucks, a team that struggles to put wins together.

The Vancouver Canucks come into the game with a 2-5-2 record this season. It’s been a rough year for the Canucks but there’s still a lot of time to turn it around. The problem is they’re allowing an average of 3.89 goals per game. If they can’t find a way to stop the Devils scorers, they’ll lose this one. We think the safest bet is taking the Devils at -120.
