The NBA season has opened and several teams are off to a fast start. After a few significant injuries, we’re going to take a look at how we think three games will play out.

Charlotte Hornets (+7.5) over New York Knicks

We’re actually a little shocked by the Hornets being such heavy underdogs but there’s a reason for that. LaMelo Ball has been ruled out for this game which puts them in a tough position. However, they still have players like Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward. Hayward actually leads the team in points per game at 19.3.

The New York Knicks have yet to lose a game at home and we don’t think they’ll lose tonight. However, we do think the Hornets will find a way to cover the spread on the road. Charlotte is coming off a 126-109 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Look for them to secure a road win over the Knicks tonight.

Milwaukee Bucks (-4) over Brooklyn Nets

The Milwaukee Bucks only come in as four-point favorites tonight, not a large spread at all. The Nets, unfortunately, are without Markieff Morris and Seth Curry. With both of these players out, they’ll have a hard time keeping up with the Milwaukee Bucks. In their most recent game, the Nets lost 134-124 to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Milwaukee Bucks have won two games in a row. They’ve had a significant gap from their last game against the Houston Rockets which took place on October 22. In that game, they beat the Rockets 125-105. Their offense has played very well so far this season and we’ll take them to cover the spread against Brooklyn.

Los Angeles Lakers (+6) over Denver Nuggets

The season hasn’t started off too well for the Los Angeles Lakers, who are currently 0-3. LeBron James, however, is having a solid start, averaging 27.3 points per game. At the moment, James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook are on the injured list. We don’t think they’ll miss tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets though.

The Denver Nuggets are the obvious favorites in this game but they’ve had a few close calls. Not long ago they were nearly beaten by the Oklahoma City Thunder. In their game against the Portland Trail Blazers just a few nights ago, they lost 135-110. Because of this, we’ll take the Lakers on the road at +6.
