Well, basking in the glory of regaining our blog betting championship didn’t last very long.
Yesterday, we successfully picked the Dallas Stars to defeat the St. Louis Blues, while both NBA play-in tournament games flipped the script on the first night, hitting the over. The OKC Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans eclipsed the total points line by 14.5 points, with the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors hitting the over by 1.5 points.
With yesterday’s loss, our record drops to 1-3 on daily parlays and 6-6 on individual picks.
There are no NBA games on Thursday’s sports schedule, so we’re heading to the ice for a same-game parlay, intending to take back out blog betting championship.
Buffalo Sabres over Ottawa Senators (-130)
The Buffalo Sabres have won three of the last five games and are 7-3 in the last ten games. The Ottawa Senators have won two straight but have lost three of the last five games and are 5-5 in the last ten.
In head-to-head matchups this season, the Senators hold the edge 2-1, winning 301 on January 1 and 4-1 on November 16, while the Sabres won 4-1 on October 13.
Notably, the winning team has been the home team in all three games this season.
The home team is 4-1 in the last five meetings, while the Senators are 4-1 in the last five games overall.
However, we’re taking the Buffalo Sabres to even the season series and get the win on home ice.
Buffalo Sabres -1.5 over Ottawa Senators (+160)
All three previous matchups this season have ended in at least a 1.5-goal spread.
The Senators are 46-35 ATS, while the Sabres are 46-34 ATS this season.
We’re following the trends here and taking the Sabres to cover the spread, likely with an empty net goal.
Ottawa Senators versus Buffalo Sabres Under 7.0 (-115)
The under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings in Buffalo. However, the over is 6-1-1 in the Sabres’ last eight games against teams with losing records.
The Senators are 6-3-1 over/under in the last ten, while the Sabres are 5-4-1 over/under.
Yet, the three head-to-head matchups this season (and the last six meetings overall) have hit the under.
We’re taking the Senators and Sabres to hit the under with a 4-2 final score.
