Last night, we claimed ignorance of the whereabouts of the parlay blog betting championship, creating a multi-game parlay featuring two NBA playoff games and putting our faith behind Igor Shesterkin and the New York Rangers.
The New York Rangers lost 4-1 last night, allowing the New Jersey Devils back into the series, tying the series at 2-2.
Over on the hardwood, we successfully predicted the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks would hit the over, with the Heat taking a 3-1 series lead with a 119-114 win, hitting the over by 15.5.
As for our final pick of the Grizzlies vs Lakers to hit the under, we were successful when the fourth quarter ended with 208 total points scored, hitting the under by 13 points!
However, the game was tied at the end of the fourth quarter and required overtime. The Grizzlies and Lakers needed overtime to hit the over by 4.5 total points.
That’s a parlay loss, despite how we want to slice the Grizzlies and Lakers pie for positive results. With yesterday’s loss, our weekly parlay record drops to 0-2 and 2-4 on individual picks.
We’re returning to the same-game parlay – the site of our greatest successes – for today’s winning parlay.
Carolina Hurricanes over New York Islanders (-159)
The Hurricanes have a 3-1 first-round series lead, holding a 6-2 season series lead in head-to-head competition.
The favorite is 6-1 in the previous seven meetings, while the home team is 4-1 in the previous five matchups.
Moreover, the Islanders are 2-8 in the previous ten matchups in Raleigh.
The Islanders have a 17-18-6 road record this season, while the Hurricanes have a 28-10-3 home record.
We’re taking the Hurricanes to win at home and end the Islanders’ playoff hopes in five games.
Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 over New York Islanders (+155)
In the eight head-to-head matchups this season, the winning team has won by at least a 1.5-goal spread in five of the eight games.
The Hurricanes have a 35-51 ats record, while the Islanders are 35-51 ats.
The previous two meetings have ended with at least a 1.5-goal spread. We’re taking the Hurricanes to cover the spread while eliminating the Islanders from the playoffs tonight.
New York Islanders versus Carolina Hurricanes Over 5.5 (+110)
The last three games have hit the over, while the Islanders and Hurricanes have combined for a 5-3 over/under record this season.
While this will be a close game and the Islanders are fighting to survive, we’re expecting the Hurricanes to win 4-2 and this game to hit the over of 5.5.
