Last night, the Boston Bruins answered the question of if the best team in hockey would lose four-straight games, emphatically defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs, while the Utah Jazz narrowly defeated the Toronto Raptors. However, we took the underdog Buffalo Sabres to defeat the second-best team in hockey, the Carolina Hurricanes.

Checking the scoreboard, and that one didn’t go so well for us at all. With the Sabres’ loss, we are now 0-4 on our weekly parlays but 6-5-1 on our individual picks.

However, we look ahead to the NBA schedule to build our same-game parlay for Thursday night. The last same-game parlay we constructed featured one LA team, and we went 2-1 with those picks. Today we look to the other LA squad in purple and gold for our parlay.

Los Angeles Lakers over Indiana Pacers (-115)

The Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers enter Thursday night with identical 24-28 records.

The Lakers won their last game against the New York Knicks 129-123 in overtime but have lost three of the last five games. The Lakers are 5-5 in the last ten games and are expecting Anthony Davis back in the lineup soon.

The Pacers lost their last game 112-100 to the Memphis Grizzlies, extending their losing streak to three. Indiana has lost four of the last five games and is 1-9 in the last ten games. However, Indiana did with the first meeting this season, grabbing a 116-115 victory on November 28, 2022.

Statistically, the Lakers are the more efficient shooting team, the better rebounding team, and the better defensive team overall.

Los Angeles Lakers -1.5 over Indiana Pacers (-110)

The Pacers have a 2-8 ATS record in the last ten games and a 27-25 ATS record overall. The Pacers are 0-4 ATS following a loss of more than ten points in their last game.

The Lakers might be 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Indiana and 2-6 in the last eight games overall, but they have covered the spread in three of the last four games and have a 7-3 ATS record in the last ten.

With such a narrow spread and our pick of the Lakers on the moneyline, we’re taking the Lakers to cover the -1.5 spread.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Indiana Pacers Under 240.5 (-110)

The total points line is set to 240.5 points, which is a lot of points, even with offensive basketball dominating the league.

The Lakers have a 28-24-0 over/under record and are 4-6 over/under in the last ten. The Pacers have a 25-26-1 over/under record and are 5-5 over/under in the last ten games.

However, when faced with a spread of 238.5 points or higher, Indiana is 2-2 over/under, while Los Angeles is 0-4 over/under. We’re taking the under as 241 points is a lot of points, and neither team is especially good facing such a high total points line recently.
