Action247 Same-Game Parlay for June 1, 2023

What happened to our parlay last night? We don’t care because it’s June 1st and game one of the NBA FINALS!

Actually, we very much care, and we’re wondering why stats and trends kind of matter but don’t at all in baseball betting. Why, you ask? Because we went 0-3 again last night.

We selected the Braves and the A’s to hit the over of 9.0, which their 4-2 final score most certainly did not.

Our second leg was a bust as we picked the favored Los Angeles Dodgers to cover the spread against the Washington Nationals. Not only did the Dodgers not cover the spread, they lost the game entirely, 10-6.

In our third leg, the Dads let us down, as Fathers sometimes do, losing 2-1 to the Miami Marlins.

With a solid 0-3 night, our weekly parlay record drops to 0-4, while we are an awful 2-10 on individual picks.

We’ll figure out what’s happening in MLB in due course because that’s going on the back burner because it’s time for the NBA Finals.

Denver Nuggets over Miami Heat (-370)

nuggets vs heat nba bettingThe Denver Nuggets are 8-0 at home in the playoffs and 42-7 overall. While the Heat have a 6-4 road record in the playoffs, they are 23-28 on the road.

More importantly, the Nuggets have won both head-to-head matchups this season, and Nikola Jokić is averaging a triple-double for the playoffs.

Factor in a lengthy rest period – which can have its drawbacks – and we’re taking the Denver Nuggets to win game one at home.

Miami Heat +9 over Denver Nuggets (-110)

nuggets vs heat nba bettingMiami is 44-54-2 ats, while Denver is 54-43 ats. Denver covered the spread in both regular season games, although the largest spread number was 4.0 points, with both games ending with spreads of five points or less.

We’re taking Jimmy Butler and the Butlerettes to cover the spread in game one but lose to the Nuggets in a close game.

Miami Heat Versus Denver Nuggets Over 219.0 (-110)

nuggets vs heat nba bettingMiami has a 52-48 over/under record, while Denver is 45-50-2 over/under.

Miami has hit the under in four straight games, while both teams have 5-5 over/under records in the last ten games.

In the head-to-head matchups this season, both games hit the over, with the lowest total score being 220 points.

With Miami averaging 111.7 ppg in the playoffs and Denver averaging 116.4 ppg, we’re taking the over.
