Action247 Same-Game Parlay for June 8, 2023

Before we dive into game three of the Stanley Cup Finals (spoilers?!?), we need to look back at our busted parlay and latest failure to retain our Parlay Blog Championship after reclaiming the belt the night before.

Last night, we successfully predicted the Denver Nuggets would win game three of the NBA Finals on the road, which they did with a 109-94 victory on the backs of triple-doubles by Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray.

However, we took the Nuggets and the Heat to hit the over of 214.5, which they did not, only combining for 203 total points and moving the head-to-head over/under record to 3-2.

In the third leg of our parlay, we headed west and took the Seattle Mariners to defeat the Dads of San Diego, who had a slight pitching advantage on paper. There was no pitching advantage for the Mariners, who got destroyed 10-3 by the Dads.

After a 1-2 night, our parlay record drops to 1-3 on parlays and 7-5 on individual picks.

As spoiled, we’re building our same-game parlay around game three of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Florida Panthers over Vegas Golden Knights (-120)

In all honesty, we’ve seen nothing from the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals that suggests they’ll win game three – or any game – of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Sergei Bobrovsky looks like the goalie with one of the worst contracts in NHL history up to this playoff run, while referees aren’t letting Florida be Florida and have given Matthew Tkachuk three misconduct penalties in two games, while VGK’s powerplay is 4 for 9 in the Finals.

However, the home team has won all four matchups this season and is 11-1 in the previous 12 matchups. The moneyline favorite is 4-0 this season.

We’re taking the Florida Panthers to win because we want a competitive Stanley Cup and want to see the Panthers get their first Stanley Cup Finals win in franchise history. Moreover, game three is almost a must-win for Florida, who has performed exceptionally well in these circumstances in the playoffs.

However, if the Panthers lose game three, the Vegas Golden Knights will win the Stanley Cup in four or five games.

Vegas Golden Knights +1.5 over Florida Panthers (-256)

The Vegas Golden Knights have looked incredible and are playing excellent hockey at the right time. Even if the Florida Panthers win game three, we think they’re only winning by one goal.

And if the Vegas Golden Knights win game three, at least we’re walking away with one win in our same-game parlay.

Vegas Golden Knights versus Florida Panthers Over 6.0 (-115)

Oddsmakers are reacting to the Stanely Cup Finals’ first two games hitting the over and have listed game three at 6 to 6.5 total goals across the board. Here at Action 24/7, we’ve got game three listed at 6.0 total goals.

The Panthers and Golden Knights have combined for a 2-2 over/under record in head-to-head competition this season, while three of those games ended with at least six total goals scored.

We’re taking game three of the Stanley Cup Finals to hit the over.
