Action247 Same-Game Parlay for May 16, 2023

Well, we’ve had almost the work start to a week in parlay blog history. After starting the week 0-2-1, we decided to take the road underdog in game seven and expected the teams to continue a season-long trend.

However, we have a fantastic new aesthetic for our user interface here at Action 24/7! We’ll take that slice of good with the bad sandwich we’re about to eat.

Last night, the Dallas Stars defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-1, dropping the over’s record to 9-1 this season and giving us three quick losses on Monday night. At least the waters are safe from sea monsters until next Fall.

Incredibly, we start the week 0-5-1 on individual picks and 0-2 on parlays.

With only one playoff game on the calendar, we’re returning to the same-game parlay and game one of the NBA Western Conference Finals and the battle between AD and the Joker to regain our long-lost parlay blog championship.

Denver Nuggets over Los Angeles Lakers (-250)

nuggets vs lakers nba bettingA major question is how the battle of the bigs will play out between Anthony Davis and two-time MVP and triple-double machine Nikola Jokić.

AD is one of the best defenders in the association, but Jokić is going to lead his team to the NBA Finals. We’re favoring the Denver Nuggets to win game one on home court.

The home team is 4-0 in the head-to-head matchup this season.

The Nuggets have a 40-7 home record, while the Lakers are 22-25 on the road.

Take the Joker at home.

Denver Nuggets (-6.5) over Los Angeles Lakers (-110)

nuggets vs lakers nba bettingThe Nuggets have a 52-41 ats record, while the Lakers have a 48-45-1 ats record.

The Lakers are 1-5-1 ats in the last seven games in Denver.

The closest final score spread this season was 11 points.

We’re taking the Nuggets to cover the spread in game one.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Denver Nuggets Over 222.5 (-110)

nuggets vs lakers nba bettingThe Lakers have a 49-44-1 over/under record, while the Nuggets have a 43-48-2 over/under record.

Los Angeles averaged 113.75 points, while Denver averaged 112.5 points in the four head-to-head meetings.

The over is 6-2 in the previous eight meetings in Denver, while these teams combined for a 2-2 over/under record this season.

Three of the four head-to-head matchups this season hit over 222.5 total points.

We’re taking the over.
