Yesterday, we dipped our toes into the MLB waters for the parlay blog and didn’t like the temperature.

That means we lost and did not regain our Parlay Blog Betting Championship belt.

Yesterday, we successfully picked the Tampa Bay Rays to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers, which the Rays did with a 9-3 win. However, it was all downhill from here.

As it turns out, stats do matter, and the better pitching stats won out in the Chicago White Sox 12-3 road win over the Detroit Tigers, and we took Detroit. We also selected an interleague game with little to work with but lost when the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Seattle Mariners 11-6.

With yesterday’s loss, our parlay record drops to 1-5, while our individual picks record drops to 9-9.

We’ve got the NBA and NHL conference Finals to build our same-game parlay from, and we’re staying away from the must-win game six between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics but taking Boston in game seven – if necessary.

We’re also taking Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso – our favorite F1 driver – to take pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix (as we’re watching qualifying while writing this blog).

Let’s go to game five of the Western Conference Finals in Las Vegas, shall we?

Vegas Golden Knights over Dallas Stars (-141)

The moneyline favorite and the home team are 4-1 in the previous five matchups.

Dallas holds a 4-3 lead in the head-to-head series. However, VGK is 31-18-0 at home, while Dallas is 28-14-7 on the road this season.

We’re taking the Vegas Golden Knights to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals tonight with a “gentleman’s sweep.”

So far, three of the four games in the Western Conference Finals have gone to overtime, while Five of the seven matchups this season have gone to overtime.

Considering the close head-to-head series, even though we think the Stars will lose game five, we think they’re losing a one-goal game.

Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Under 5.5 (-115)

All four games of the Western Conference Finals have hit the under of 5.5.

The under is 6-1 in the head-to-head series and 5-2-1 in the previous eight matchups in Vegas.

Once again, we’re following the trends and expect another close one-goal game that doesn’t breach five total goals in the end. Take the under.
