NFL Week 17 Outlook; Sunday, Jan. 2, 12:00 PM CST

The 17th week of the NFL season has arrived. We have no Thursday Night Football but 15 games on Sunday, which is epic. In Week 18, all 16 games will occur on Sunday. There are countless games with playoff implications this week, which should make for some exciting football.

Before you place your bets, you better prepare to win. We have a lot of data to look at this week, so let’s not waste the stats. Here is your Week 17 betting outlook!

Atlanta Falcons Travel to Buffalo, New York to Face the Bills

The Buffalo Bills are nearing the end of their regular season, and they’ve got a shot to make it into the playoffs. The Bills just beat the New England Patriots, which gives them an edge in tie-breakers against other AFC East teams.

They will take home the AFC East crown after defeating the Patriots on Sunday if the Bills win out. Buffalo beat up New England even though the Patriots made a late run. I still do not think Buffalo will come out of the AFC. However, they have an easy remaining schedule with two home games.

Atlanta Falcons Slim Chance for the Playoffs

The Atlanta Falcons are also vying to get into the playoffs this year, but unlike Buffalo’s two games left, they’ll need to win both of theirs if they want a chance at making it.  Atlanta is 7-8 and they’ll need to beat Buffalo and New Orleans in the final two games of the regular season for a small chance.

Atlanta barely survived the Lions last week. They were unable to cover the spread, and this has been a recurring theme throughout the year. The Falcons are 6-9-1 ATS compared to the Bills at 8-6-1.

The spread is -14.5 in favor of Buffalo. This is a large spread, but 69% of bettors are going with the Bills.
