Associated Press AP Poll Top 25 Update
The AP Top 25 poll for men’s college basketball is officially available. Like last week, there was little movement this week, although there were still some notable teams moving around. Let’s look at the Top 25 this week and try to figure out how the poll could look like next week.
Baylor has now been at the top of the AP Poll for five weeks in a row, and there is no reason to think that they are going to give up the top spot anytime soon. They are once again the unanimous top team in the country as they have gotten 61 votes.
Baylor sits at 15-0 on the season thus far and have a relatively easy week of games ahead of them compared to last week. They have now held the top spot in the country for longer than anyone else this season. After winning the national championship last season, Baylor has looked like a team on a mission to repeat as national champion.
With the teams behind Baylor piling up some losses, the margin for error that they are getting is improving as they continue winning games. If Gonzaga and UCLA end up losing another game or two, then Baylor might be able to stick at the top of the poll even if they were to lose a game.
Lets see if Baylor can can make it six weeks in a row on the top of the AP Poll. They have some big matchups this week and first one is Texas Tech University.
