Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets Preview and Predictions

It’s LaMelo Ball versus Kevin Durant in this Sunday night showdown

The Charlotte Hornets currently have the No.9 spot in the Eastern Conference. On Sunday, they’ll face off against the team in front of them, the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets only have a game lead on the Hornets, so this could be a tipping point. If the Hornets can beat the Nets in Barclay’s Center, they could take the spot. This is a task much easier said than done, however.

Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets prepare to host one of the best offenses in the NBA. One thing is certain in this one; the Nets will have to play incredible defense. They can’t allow the Hornets to get their offense going early, that’s for sure. Kyrie Irving will likely be out for this game, which means Patty Mills will guard Ball. This is going to be an exciting game to watch.

Game Preview: Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets, March 27th

The Hornets have the second-best scoring offense in the NBA, averaging 115.08 points per game. This offense will look to overwhelm the Nets defense early, attempting to get an early lead. Unfortunately for Brooklyn, their defense is in near the bottom ten teams in the NBA. Ranking 19th in points allowed, Brooklyn gives up an average of 111.85 points each game.

Because of their lackluster defense, the Nets will have to focus on their offense. If they can keep up with the Hornets, a few key stops will be vital to the game. The Nets have the ninth-best offense in the NBA, averaging 112.11 points per game. Brooklyn will need another big game from Kevin Durant. The most likely way for them to win this one is turning the game over to him.

Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets Betting Prediction

These two teams faced off in a recent, high-scoring battle on March 8, 2022. Similar to our prediction above, this game was all about offense. The Charlotte Hornets came into the game as 4.5-point underdogs and were at home. However, they didn’t have just Kevin Durant to worry about in that one. The Brooklyn Nets ended up winning the game with a score of 132-121.

The biggest difference in this game is that the Hornets won’t have to worry about Kyrie Irving. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Irving won’t be active on Sunday night. This means the 50 points Irving was able to put up will be missing. Because of this, we think the Hornets will come away with a win against Brooklyn. We’ll also take Charlotte to cover the spread in this one.

In their last three meetings against each other, the total has gone over twice. We expect this game to go over the total as well. This season, at the time of writing, Brooklyn is 38-34 against the total.
