NFL Week 18 Recap

The final week of the regular season has concluded, and it’s playoff time in the NFL. This year’s Wild Card weekend is going to be epic because of the extra game with the format change. Fourteen teams make the playoffs, and only the top seed in the AFC and NFC receive bye weeks.

Before breaking down the playoff matchups, we cannot forget what happened in Week 18. This slate of games set the stage for the postseason, so it’s important to understand how teams finished the year.

There were only a few meaningful games, but they were very entertaining. Here is your Week 18 recap!

Chiefs Survive Against Broncos

If the Chiefs hoped to earn the first seed in the AFC, they needed to win on Saturday. Ultimately, Buffalo earned the first seed with a win over the Houston Texans, but the Kansas City Chiefs still gave it a full effort against Denver.

The Broncos jumped out to an early lead, but the Chiefs fought back. They have now won 12 straight games against the Denver Broncos with their 28-24 victory. The game went over the 45 point total, and Denver covered +11.5 with ease.

Titans Earn First Seed by Three Points

The Tennessee Titans have not garnered much respect heading into the postseason. They are now the first seed in the AFC, but not many people believe in Ryan Tannehill and company. The Titans could be dangerous if Derrick Henry recovers in time for the Divisional Round.

The Titans were nearly upset by the Houston Texans. Although, they currently look like a team that will be upset early. The line closed with Tennessee as a 10 point favorite, but they only won 28-25.

The game went over the 42.5-point total, which was surprising considering neither team is dominant on offense.
