Going into the final match, many were unsure who would take home the title. With Aryna ranked as number 2 in the world, and Coco as number 6, many thought the Russian had it. Yet, Coco came ready to play. After losing the first set, Coco was able to gear up for the next two. She had a fire under her, and she was able to defeat her opponent in the next two sets.

Coco’s speed was what helped her win the match. Meanwhile, she is one of the fastest players in the tournament. However, the advantage many thought Aryna had over her was her strength and power. Also, Aryna is a very powerful player who thrives on her serves and returns. Therefore, Coco’s main hurdle was getting Aryna’s serves back. In the end, she was able to win many games against Aryna in which she was not serving. Finally, by breaking Aryna’s strong serves and hits, Coco was undefeatable.

All in all, Coco celebrated her win on the court by falling to the ground crying. In the end, this was a dream of hers since she was a little girl.
