The 2021 College football season is fully underway as we enter Week 2. My name is Chris, and I’ll be giving out weekly college football and NFL picks to help you crush your bookie. I’m not a professional handicapper. I’m just a guy who wakes up in the morning and finds winners. I have three locks for Week 2 of college football. Let me make you some money this weekend. Let’s ride.
Air Force -6 vs. Navy
This has the potential to be one of the best games of the day. The two service academies square off in Annapolis on the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The emotions will be flaring in this one, but Air Force is the superior team in this matchup. The Falcons are coming off a strong showing in their 35-14 win over Lafayette while Navy got their tails handed to them to the tune of a 49-7 beat down by Marshall. Navy is a program on the decline. They went 3-7 last year and did not get off on the right foot in the 2021 campaign. Air Force is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games between these two teams. Navy, on the other hand, is just 1-5 ATS in their last six games. (They also lost all six of those games.) This one will probably be back and forth to start, but the cream will rise to the top. Back Air Force -6. Remember, if you don’t bet on this game, you’re not an American.
Liberty -4 vs. Troy
Both teams are coming off strong showings against inferior competition in Week 1. Liberty dismantled Campbell by a score of 49-7 while Troy dominated Norfolk State 55-3. You can’t really tell much from two routs of FCS schools, so we’ll be looking at last year to find the edge in this one. Liberty has won 13 of their last 14 games and covered the spread in 9 straight. Troy, on the other hand, has struggled at home. They are only 4-8 ATS in their last 12 home games and only 1-6 ATS against an independent team in their last 7. Quite frankly, I do not know why this spread is only at 4. Don’t overthink this one. Liberty is very good while Troy is very average. This one could get ugly. Roll with the Flames -4 with confidence.
Missouri vs. Kentucky Under 56
Kentucky and Mizzou kick off SEC play earlier than usual this year. This game screams “under” because both of these teams like to run the football. They both chalked up over 150 yards on the ground last week against inferior opponents, and they’ll probably stick to the same strategy this week – but this time facing much better defenses. The total has gone under in 12 of the Tigers’ last 17 games, and the under is 12-5 in the Wildcats’ last 17 conference games. These teams don’t like to score a lot of points against each other, either. The total has gone under in six of the last seven meetings between the two. This is going to be an ugly, run-heavy game. Both teams will take time to adjust to a stronger defense. Take the under.
Other plays I’m taking this week:
Ohio State -14.5 vs. Oregon Oklahoma State -13 vs. Tulsa Rutgers vs. Syracuse U52 Purdue - 34.5 vs. Uconn Iowa +4.5 vs. Iowa State (sprinkle ML) Memphis -5.5 vs. Arkansas St San Diego St ML vs. Arizona Oregon State vs. Hawaii U64
Good luck to everyone, but you don’t need it with these winners. Pray for your bookie.
