Here’s an overview of some of the top games in sports being played on June 7. Today, we’re taking a closer look at five games from Major League Baseball and the NHL Playoffs.

Texas Rangers vs. Cleveland Guardians – 3:10 PM ET

Our first game of the day is the Texas Rangers versus the Cleveland Guardians. The Rangers, currently 25-28, have lost four of their last five games. Taking on the Guardians is a tough task, especially for a team that doesn’t have a deep bullpen. On the mound is Jon Gray, the 1-2 RHP with an ERA of 4.83 this season.

The Guardians are 24-25 this season with a record of 11-8 at home. On the mound is Cal Quantrill, the 2-3 pitcher that has thrown only 33 strikeouts this season. These teams are pretty evenly matched, with the Guardians netting a slight edge. However, the Rangers are due for a win, so we’ll take them tonight.

Washington Nationals vs. Miami Marlins – 6:40 PM ET

Both the Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins have had their share of struggles. However, the Nationals, 21-35 this season, have won their last three games. With a little momentum on their side, they head into this game at full speed. Pitching tonight for the Nationals is Evan Lee, who is 0-1 as a starter and has pitched just 3.2 innings.

The Marlins are also starting a fresh pitcher tonight, the 1-0 Edward Cabrera. Cabrera has only pitched 6.0 innings this season but is definitely equipped for the job. The Nationals batters are hitting at .255 right now, so he’ll have his work cut out for him. Miami comes in as the favorite, but we like the underdogs at +165.

Detroit Tigers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates – 7:05 PM ET

The Detroit Tigers have a record of 21-33 this season and are 6-18 on the road. Their inability to travel has resulted in them falling to fourth place in the AL Central. As a team, the Tigers are batting .218 this season, which is rather awful. Looking to turn their luck around is Tarik Skubal, who is 4-2 as a starter this season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have won four of their last five games this season. At home, they have a record of 13-15 with an overall record of 24-28. On the mound tonight is Jose Quintana, who is 1-2 with an ERA of 2.32. The Pirates have a slight advantage in terms of batting as well. Since they’re playing at home tonight, we’ll take the Pirates +105 here.

New York Rangers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning – 8:00 PM ET

The NHL Playoff game of the night is the New York Rangers at the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Rangers currently lead the series 2-1 and are back on the road. They were unable to take a three-game lead in Game 3 of the series. After losing 3-2 to the Lightning, the Rangers will look to get back on track tonight.

The Tampa Bay Lightning would likely want to have the same kind of performance as Game 3. They played strong on offense and played great defense as well. Brayden Point is still ruled out for this game for the Lightning. The good news is besides Point, the Lightning are healthy. Since they’re also at home, we’ll roll with the Lightning again -175.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago White Sox – 8:10 PM ET

The last game we’ll take a look at and make our pick on is the Dodgers at White Sox. Los Angeles is coming off two straight losses, both of which were to the New York Mets. Leading off as the starting pitcher is Mitch White, who has a 1-1 record this season. White has an ERA of 4.79 this season and will need some help from the Dodgers batters.

On the opposite side, the White Sox will start Michael Kopech, who is 1-2 this season. Kopech has an ERA of 2.20, a significant edge over White. The Dodgers, however, have an edge over the White Sox in terms of batting average. As a team, Los Angeles is batting .251 compared to the White Sox at .240. Because of this, we’ll take the Dodgers -135.
