Here’s an overview of some of the top games in sports being played on May 24. Today, we’re taking a closer look at five games from the NHL, MLB, and the NBA Playoffs.

Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Rangers – 7:00 PM ET

To begin our daily sports bets, we’ve got the Carolina Hurricanes versus the New York Rangers. At the moment, the Hurricanes lead the series 2-1 but took a tough loss in Game 3. With the Rangers gaining a little momentum, the Hurricanes need to rally their offense tonight. Through the series, the Hurricanes have only averaged 1.66 goals per game.

The Rangers will hope to keep the Hurricanes’ offense held to a minimum. To do this, they’ll need to be fast on defense. On Sunday, they beat the Hurricanes 3-1 and took a step closer to evening the series. They’re at home again, so they should have a bit of an advantage there as well. We think New York will bring the series to 2-2 with a win tonight.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals – 7:05 PM ET

The Los Angeles Dodgers, one of Major League Baseball’s best teams, play the Washington Nationals today. The Dodgers are 28-13 and have won four of their last five games. Their most recent win was a 10-1 victory over the Nationals yesterday. They’ll look to repeat their performance as they send Walker Buehler out to the mound.

Buehler is 5-1 as a starter but he faces some tough competition today. The Nationals will send out Josiah Gray, who has a 4-3 record as a starter. Although the Nationals have struggled, they’ve won a few big games before. Not long ago, they beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-2. Still, with Buehler on the mound, the Dodgers have a stark advantage here.

Boston Red Sox vs. Chicago White Sox – 8:10 PM ET

Although the Boston Red Sox have a record under .500, they’ve won their last five games. Now, they’ll begin their series against the White Sox, who are 21-20. Boston can get closer to the .500 mark with a few wins in this series. They’ll send Nick Pivetta to the mound, which could be bad news for them. Pivetta is 2-4 as a starter this season with an ERA of 4.22.

On the opposite side is Dylan Cease, who has an impressive 4-1 record this season. Cease has an ERA of 3.09 over the course of 43.2 innings pitched. Chicago has won three of their last five games, two of these wins were against the New York Yankees. With Cease on the mound for Chicago, we’ll go with the White Sox.

Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks – 9:00 PM ET

It’s Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals and the Warriors are up 3-0. Golden State has easily overwhelmed the defense of the Dallas Mavericks through the first three games. Tonight, they’ll look to eliminate the Mavericks and prepare for the NBA Finals. Although the Warriors are up in the series, they come in as underdogs tonight.

The Mavericks offense hasn’t been able to keep up with the Warriors. Through this series, Dallas has averaged 101.33 points per game. You can compare that to the Warriors average of 115.66 and see a steep difference. The Mavericks defense has been a non-factor throughout this series. However, we think they’ll win this one and lose the following game in Golden State.

Calgary Flames vs. Edmonton Oilers – 9:30 PM ET

Edmonton comes into this game -120 after a 4-1 win on Sunday night. Now, the Calgary Flames are behind 2-1 in this series and are on the road. They could also be without Chris Tanev, who has landed on the “day-to-day” list. After Game 1, a game in which the Flames scored nine goals, their offense has taken a step back. This could be what loses them the series.

If Edmonton wins this game, they’ll take a significant 3-1 lead in this series. From there, it shouldn’t be too hard for them to secure a win and end the series. However, the most important game is tonight since the Oilers are at home. Their offense has performed well this series and we think they can win again. We’ll go with the Oilers -120 tonight.
