Dallas Hits the Road to Milwaukee as the Bucks Host the Mavericks
With the way the Dallas Mavericks have been playing, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them in the NBA Finals. Their defense lately has been nearly impeccable, beating high-scoring teams like the Utah Jazz. They followed up that win with one over LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. If they keep playing like this, they could run through the NBA playoffs with relative ease.
The Milwaukee Bucks are always a team to be worried about, especially right now. As we near the playoffs, the reigning NBA Champions only get better. They just took down the Philadelphia 76ers, one of the best teams in the NBA. On Sunday, they face an incredibly strong defense. However, the Bucks have an answer for strong defenses, and his name is Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Game Preview: Dallas Mavericks at Milwaukee Bucks, April 3
This game takes place at an interesting time, 10:30 AM PT. Unfortunately for the Mavericks, this will be a quick turnaround for them. They face the Washington Wizards while in Dallas on Friday night, but then will fly to Milwaukee the day after. We wonder what impact this will have on the league’s No.2 ranked defense. Defending Giannis while tired will be a disaster for Dallas.
The Milwaukee Bucks will likely try to bully the Mavericks in the paint using Giannis. Milwaukee ranks as the fourth-best scoring offense in the NBA, averaging 114.88 points per game. With an offense this efficient, it isn’t hard to see why they’re towards the top of the Eastern Conference. Still, getting through the Dallas defense won’t be easy, and they’ll need everything they’ve got.
Dallas Mavericks at Milwaukee Bucks Betting Prediction
These two teams haven’t faced each other in quite some time, so a lot of things have changed. However, we can use that game as a guide for what we think the spread might be in this one. In their last game, the Bucks came in as 3.5-point favorites. Their offense was slowed down by the Mavericks, but Milwaukee came away with a win. The end score was 102-95, which covered.
There are a few important things to note there, one being the Dallas offense. If there’s a weak point in the Mavericks, it’s their lackluster offense. Sure, Luka Doncic averages 28 points per game, but the team only averages 106.67. This puts them at 25th in the NBA in terms of scoring. Even if they stop the Bucks offense, their own offense could prevent them from winning.
Because of this, and the quick turnaround for Dallas, we’ll take the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks are 26-12 at home this season and shouldn’t have to cover a large spread. We’ll also take the under on Sunday, based on the previous game.
