NFL Week 8 Betting Recap
We are approaching the halfway point in the 2021 NFL regular season. Week 8 was one for the ages, with backup quarterbacks winning games, massive upsets, and plenty of heartbreak for betting.
Here is your Week 8 recap!
Cooper Rush Keeps Dallas Undefeated ATS
The Cowboys opened the week as three-point favorites against the Vikings. By kickoff, the team was an underdog because Dak Prescott was sidelined due to an injury. Cooper Rush was given the start, and he delivered.
The quarterback threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns. Amari Cooper hauled in eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. People were calling for Mike Zimmer to be fired after his team dropped to 3-4. This was a game Minnesota should have won.
Chargers Lose Again
Justin Herbert realized what a Bill Belichick defense is on Sunday against the Patriots. Herbert did not do enough to win as New England prevailed as an underdog in Los Angeles. New England’s offense did enough to win, but the Patriots won because of the defense.
Herbert only threw for 223 yards on the afternoon. This was Los Angeles’ second straight loss, and this came after a bye week. They need to regroup if they want to win the AFC West.
Steelers Cover as UnderdogsÂ
The Browns started the season as one of the hottest teams in the NFL. They have since cooled down because of injuries, and they are now 4-4. They were bested by divisional rival Pittsburgh on Sunday by a 15-10 margin.
Pittsburgh was +5 going into the game. The Steelers were led by Ben Roethlisberger and Najee Harris. Roethlisberger threw for 266 yards and one touchdown. This is a strong day for the quarterback at this point in his career.
Harris carried the ball 26 times for 91 yards and one touchdown.
