Florida Panthers at Nashville Predators Betting Preview

Can the Nashville Predators’ Defense Survive the Offensive Onslaught of the Florida Panthers?

The Florida Panthers will head to the Bridgestone Arena on Saturday evening to take on the Nashville Predators in an Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference matchup. This will be the second and final regular season matchup, as the Predators won 6-4 in their only other game back on February 22. Florida is leading the Atlantic Division (48-15-6, 102 points), while Nashville is sitting at fourth in the Central Division (39-25-4, 82 points) up to this point.

These teams are both trying to dominate as the postseason is getting closer and closer. Let’s take a deeper dive into the Nashville Predators and the Florida Panthers to decide which side we should be placing our bets on.

Will Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky and the Florida Panthers Be Able to Defeat the Nashville Predators?

Left winger Jonathan Huberdeau has been playing extremely well for the Panthers as he is leading the NHL in assists and third in the sport in points as he has posted 97 points (24 goals, 73 assists) with an additional seven points scored in his last four games. They are averaging 4.12 goals on 37.3 shots throughout the year as a team. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has been doing decent in the net as he is 33-6-3 with 2.65 goals allowed per game and a .914 save percentage. Defensively, Florida is giving up 2.90 goals on 30.7 shot attempts right now.

Nashville has been a pretty good offensive team as they are scoring 3.26 goals on 29.5 shot attempts up to this point. Defenseman Roman Josi has been doing incredibly well as he is tied for third in the sport in assists and is also 14th in the NHL in points as he has recorded 81 points (18 goals, 63 assists) while scoring an additional three points in his previous five games.

The Predators have been doing pretty well on the defensive side of the ice as they are allowing 2.90 goals on 32 shots as of this writing. Goalie Jusse Saros has been doing incredibly well this season as he has posted a 33-21-3 record with a .920 save percentage and 2.57 goals allowed per game.

Florida Panthers at Nashville Predators Betting Prediction

These teams are not equal as the Panthers are an outstanding 20-9-6 on the road and should be able to dominate here. Bobrovsky is an excellent goaltender and needs to play a tiny bit better in the last handful of regular season games.

These offenses have been at two completely different levels as of late as Florida is averaging 5.8 goals per game in their previous four games while Nashville is scoring 2.8 goals per game in their last five games. The Panthers are currently 37-32 against the spread throughout the season, while the Predators are a little better at 38-30 against the spread. All in all, go with the Florida Panthers to cover the puck line on the road as they take on a Wild Card team in the opposite conference.
