Carolina Hurricanes Travel to Tampa Bay to Face the Lightning

The Carolina Hurricanes will travel to Amalie Arena on Tuesday evening to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in a matchup between two of the toughest Eastern Conference franchises.

This will be the third and final regular-season match between these two teams. The Hurricanes won both previous games, including a 3-2 home victory back on March 22nd.

Carolina is leading the Metropolitan Division (42-15-7, 91 points), while Tampa Bay is fourth in the Atlantic Division (39-18-6, 84 points) as of this writing.

Center Steven Stamkos has been doing well this season as he is tied for 22nd in the league in goals, tied for 31st in the NHL in assists, and 19th in the sport in points as he has 67 points (28 goals, 39 assists) with just a single point in his last three games.

On the defensive side of things, the Lightning are allowing 2.79 goals on 30 shot attempts right now. Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy has been playing phenomenally as he is 32-14-4 with 2.39 goals allowed per game with a .920 save percentage.

Carolina seems to be a bit of a better team on the defensive end of the ice but not recently, as they are giving up 2.7 goals in their previous three games while Tampa Bay is allowing two goals in their last five games.
