Big Ten Matchup with Illinois Fighting Illini at Iowa Hawkeyes

The NCAA men’s college basketball season has been very fun this season. A few teams have broken away from the pack, and a couple of teams have fallen back into the pack. As it looks right now, there is a clear-cut top team in the country, and everyone else has struggled at times this year. This upcoming week starts conference play for most of the conferences, and it is now time for their preparation to mean something over the past few months. If conference play is anything like the non-conference play was, we will see a lot of shocking upsets.

December 6th: Illini vs Hawkeyes Action Insider

Illinois and Iowa meet on Monday evening in what should be an excellent Big Ten contest. The Fighting Illini are currently 5-2, while the Hawkeyes are 7-0. Both teams open up their conference slate on Friday, December 3rd. Illinois has lost their two games to Marquette and Cincinnati, while Iowa has unscathed the first month. 

Both teams are shooting the ball at a high level scoring over 75 points a game. Iowa is currently scoring 94 points a game. Both defenses have been solid this year, allowing under 66 points a game. These teams are very similar on paper, making for a fantastic game. 

Keegan Murray has led Iowa in scoring as he is scoring 24.6 points per game. Illinois is a little more balanced than Iowa as their leading scorer is Alfonso Plummer scoring 13.9 points per game. I would lean Iowa in this one to score a ton in a hurry.
