Memphis Grizzlies Hit the Road to Take on the Atlanta Hawks
The Memphis Grizzlies are situated at the No.2 position in the Western Conference. Memphis has had a strong year, with one of the best offenses in the NBA. If they can get another win here, they’ll be one more step closer to officially claiming a playoff spot. However, they have to be careful against the Atlanta Hawks. You never know what kind of magic Trae Young can pull off.
Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks currently have the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference. However, other teams, such as the Hornets, are right behind them. A few losses, and the Hawks could lose their position and fall out of the top ten. The Hawks have been able to get a few key wins over the last few weeks, though. A win over the Memphis Grizzlies would definitely help.
Game Preview: Memphis Grizzlies at Atlanta Hawks March 18th
Between these two teams, the Grizzlies have an offensive edge. On average, the Grizzlies are putting up 114.4 points per game, fourth in the NBA. However, their defense isn’t exactly “complimentary,” allowing an average of 109.5 points per game. The matchup to watch in this one is Ja Morant versus Trae Young. Ja has size on Young, but Young can be sneaky.
Although Morant is significantly larger than Young, they’re pretty even in stats. In fact, Trae Young slightly edges out Morant in points per game. Leading the Atlanta Hawks in scoring with 28.1 points per game, Young will look to expose the Memphis defense. An unfortunate note for the Hawks is they might be without John Collins, a strong interior presence for the Hawks.
Memphis Grizzlies at Atlanta Hawks Betting Prediction
It’s been a while since these two teams played each other, their last game being in November of 2021. The Atlanta Hawks came out as the victor in that game and played on the road. It wasn’t much of a contest either, as the Hawks won 132-100. Frankly, we don’t think this will be the result of this matchup. Although the Hawks are at home, we like the Grizzlies to win this.
Covering the spread will be a different matter entirely. The Grizzlies will likely come in as the favorites in this game, but the real question is, by how much? If it’s under four points, we’d take Memphis, anything over, and we’d take the Atlanta Hawks. Keep in mind that the Hawks were able to beat Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns. Atlanta’s not an easy team to beat by a lot.
When betting on the total, keeping the offenses in mind is key. Most of their games against each other end up being high-scoring games, so we’d take the over. With each of these teams possessing great scorers, this is bound to be an electric game.
