It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Monday’s schedule.
Cincinnati Reds vs. Miami Marlins – 6:40 PM ET
With a record of 40-61, the Cincinnati Reds face the Miami Marlins tonight. Coming off a 2-1 series win against the Orioles, Cincinnati will look to keep the winning streak going. Unfortunately, they’ll be starting the 3-12 Hunter Greene, Greene has an ERA of 5.59 over 96.2 innings. With him on the mound, the chances for the Reds to win drop dramatically.
The Miami Marlins are coming off of three straight losses, each to the New York Mets. With their record falling to 47-55, they’ll definitely look to bounce back tonight. This matchup is great for the Marlins since they’re starting Jesus Luzardo. Luzardo has a record of 2-3 with a 4.03 ERA this season. Between these two, the Marlins are the better bet.
New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals – 7:05 PM ET
The New York Mets lead the NL East with a record of 64-37 this season. Currently on a six-game winning streak, the Mets now face the Washington Nationals. On the mound tonight is Max Scherzer, one of the Mets best pitchers. Scherzer has a record of 6-2 this season with a 2.09 ERA and gives the Mets the best chance to win.
Taking on the Nationals won’t be an easy feat, however. As a team, the Washington Nationals are batting .246 this season. The Mets, however, have a significant lead in that regard at .256. The 4-14 Patrick Corbin is getting the not to start the game for the Nationals today. With the Mets on a hot streak, we’ll take New York -267.
Boston Red Sox vs. Houston Astros – 8:00 PM ET
This game is guaranteed to be an entertaining one, especially in terms of batting. The 51-52 Boston Red Sox face off against the 67-36 Houston Astros tonight. The Red Sox, one of the best batting teams in the league, has an average of .255. This is quite a significant lead over the Astros .240. The 4-3 Nathan Eovaldi will get the start for Boston with an ERA of 4.43.
Although the Red Sox has the advantage at the plate, the Astros have the advantage on the mound. Getting the start tonight is Luis Garcia, who has an 8-6 record with an ERA of 3.81 this season. The Astros have won three of their last five games, three of which were against the Seattle Mariners. It’s a risky pick but we’ll take the Boston Red Sox at +158.
Kansas City Royals vs. Chicago White Sox – 8:10 PM ET
The Kansas City Royals have lost four of their last five games. Falling to a record of 40-62, they face a better match for them tonight, the Chicago White Sox. The 5-11 Brad Keller will get the start on the mound tonight with an ERA of 4.18. Over 107.2 innings he’s thrown 73 strikeouts and has allowed 102 hits.
With Keller on the mound for the Royals, the White Sox batters should be in a good spot. As a team, the White Sox are batting .257, one of the best averages in the league. On the mound tonight is Michael Kopech, who is 4-6 this season with an ERA of 3.16. They’ve won three of their last five games and are the best pick here at -165.
Colorado Rockies vs. San Diego Padres – 9:40 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres face off in an NL West battle. The Rockies, with a record of 46-57, has lost three of their last five games. Ranking fourth in the NL West, they’ll need to win a few games in this series to avoid falling further. Antonio Senzatela will get the start for the Rockies today, Senzatela is 3-5 this season with a 4.90 ERA.
Although the Rockies don’t excel on the mound, they’re pretty great at the plate. This season, the Rockies have a team batting average of .261. This average is far better than the Padres’ .240 and San Diego isn’t starting one of their better pitchers. On the mound tonight is Mike Clevinger, who has a 2-3 record with a 3.38 ERA. We’ll take the Rockies at +175
