It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Thursday’s schedule.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs – 1:20 PM ET

The St. Louis Cardinals, with a record of 71-53, rank first in the NL Central. Last night, they lost 7-1 to the Chicago Cubs in what was a shocking defeat. In an effort to bounce back, the Cardinals will send out the 6-6 Dakota Hudson. Hudson has an ERA of 4.33 over the span of 114.1 innings.

The Chicago Cubs are likely in high spirits after last night’s win. The good news is they have
Marcus Stroman taking the mound for them today. Stroman has a 3-5 record but an ERA of 3.83. The main difference is the Cardinals have a better batting group, hitting an average of .258 this season. We’ll go with the Cardinals at -125 on the road.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Philadelphia Phillies – 7:05 PM ET

After losing their third straight game, the Cincinnati Reds have dropped to 48-74. This season hasn’t been easy on the Reds, especially their pitching group. Today, Justin Dunn, who is 1-1 with an ERA of 6.08 will take the mound for the Reds.

The Philadelphia Phillies are starting Aaron Nola, who has an 8-10 record with a 3.25 ERA. Nola is a much more experienced pitcher than Dunn and has a much better ERA. The Phillies also have the better batters so we’ll take them -335.

Colorado Rockies vs. New York Mets – 7:10 PM ET

This game could be an entertaining one, especially with the batters for the Colorado Rockies. After suffering a 16-4 loss to the Texas Rangers, the Rockies will face the New York Mets. Their team has a batting average of .263 this season and the 2-4 Ryan Feltner will get the start.

The New York Mets will start one of the best pitchers in baseball, Jacob deGrom. deGrom has a record of 2-1 with an ERA of 2.31. The only problem is deGrom hasn’t done much pitching this year due to injuries. He’s backed up by a batting group that is .258 at the plate this season. With deGrom and the Mets batting, we’ll take them at home -430.

Minnesota Twins vs. Houston Astros – 8:10 PM ET

The troubles continue for the Minnesota Twins, who have lost five games in a row. Last night, they played the Houston Astros and lost 5-3. Their biggest problem is lackluster pitching, which will be a problem again tonight. Getting the start on the mound is Chris Archer, who is 2-6 with a 4.02 ERA.

The only good news for the Twins is that the Houston Astros are starting a similar pitcher. Taking the mound for Houston to start the game is Luis Garcia. Garcia has a 10-8 record with a 4.09 ERA. The bats of the Twins actually have a slight edge over the Astros as well, batting .248 this season. We’ll take the Twins at +158 over the Astros.

New York Yankees vs. Oakland Athletics – 9:40 PM ET

The New York Yankees are finally back on the winning track. They’ve won their last three games, two of which were over the New York Mets. Tonight, they face a team that they should be able to easily take a win over, the Oakland Athletics. On the mound is one of the Yankees best, Jameson Taillon. Taillon has an 11-4 record with a 4.00 ERA.

The Oakland Athletics are also coming off a win over the Miami Marlins. Although they have a record of 46-79, the Athletics have claimed a few notable wins this year. The 3-7 James Kaprielian will take the mound for the Athletics today. Kaprielian has a 4.29 ERA over the course of 100.2 innings. Against the Yankees batters, the Athletics are in trouble, we’ll take New York.
