It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Sunday’s schedule.
New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays – 1:40 PM ET
The New York Yankees are among the best teams in Major League Baseball. With a 33-14, the Yankees rank first in the AL East. Tonight, they’ll continue their series against the Tampa Bay Rays. So far, the Yankees have won two out of the three games. However, the most recent game was a 3-1 loss. They’ll have the 3-0 Luis Severino on the mound tonight.
The Tampa Bay Rays will be starting one of their best pitchers, Shane McClanahan. McClanahan has a 4-2 record with an ERA of 2.06 over the course of 52.1 innings. Each of these teams has a team batting average of .237. The difference is that the Yankees are still without Giancarlo Stanton. We’ll take the Rays tonight -145.
Chicago Cubs vs. Chicago White Sox – 2:10 PM ET
The Chicago Cubs have won three of their last five games. Their most recent win was a 5-1 win over the Chicago White Sox yesterday. On the mound for the Cubs, tonight is the 2-4 Marcus Stroman. Stroman hasn’t had a good start to the season, especially with an ERA of 4.71. The White Sox have the advantage in terms of pitching.
On the mound for the White Sox is the 4-2 Dylan Cease. Cease has pitched 46.2 innings and has thrown 71 strikeouts over the course of those innings. With an ERA of 4.24, Cease slightly edges out Stroman in that category. The White Sox come in as -165 favorites, and for good reason. We’ll take the White Sox to win at home today.
Texas Rangers vs. Oakland Athletics – 4:07 PM ET
Later in the afternoon, we’ll see a game between the Rangers and the Athletics. The Rangers are 22-23 this season and rank third in the AL West. Dane Dunning will get the start on the mound tonight; Dunning has a 1-3 record as an SP. Although Dunning’s record isn’t good, he’s still doing better than the Athletics James Kaprielian.
Kaprielian gets the start tonight with a 0-2 record and a 5.48 ERA. The Rangers have won their last three games against the Athletics, the most recent one being an 11-4 win. We don’t have much faith in them, with Kaprielian on the mound for the Athletics. As a team, they have a batting average of .212. The smartest bet tonight is taking the Rangers -130.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks – 4:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers have won four of their last five games. Through their current series against the Diamondbacks, they’ve won all three. With a record of 32-14 and a 17-9 record on the road, the Dodgers are in good shape to win again. They’ll be starting the 5-0 Tyler Anderson, giving the Dodgers even more of an advantage tonight.
The Arizona Diamondbacks find themselves in a tough spot tonight. Facing Anderson isn’t going to be easy, especially with a team that has a batting average of .216. On the mound for the Diamondbacks is Zach Davies. Davies has a 2-2 record as a starter and an ERA of 4.81. We’ll take the Dodgers -215 to win this game tonight.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets – 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia Phillies head into their third game of the series against the New York Mets. So far, the Phillies have already lost the first two games. Through their last five games, the Phillies have lost four. Tonight, Zack Wheeler (3-3) will get the start against some of the best batters in Major League Baseball. Wheeler has an ERA of 3.38, which is rather good.
Unfortunately for the Phillies, they’ll be facing the 4-2 Chris Bassitt of the New York Mets. Bassitt has an ERA of 3.91 over 53 innings pitched. The Mets batters average .263 with an on-base percentage of .334. The Mets have secured 425 hits throughout the season with 238 runs. We’ve got to take the Mets to win at home tonight (-115)
