Nashville Predators at Philadelphia Flyers Betting Preview

Two Teams Heading in Different Directions Square Off in a Non-Conference Battle

The Nashville Predators will face off against the Philadelphia Flyers inside of the Wells Fargo Center in an Eastern Conference vs Western Conference matchup. This will be the first of two games this season against each other as they will play in Nashville as well on March 27. The Predators are fourth in the Central Division (33-21-4, 70 points) while the Flyers are dead last in the Metropolitan Division (18-30-10, 46 points) this season.

The production on both sides of the ice is going to make this an entertaining matchup. Let’s take a deeper dive into Nashville and Philadelphia to determine the best area to attack betting this game.

Defenseman Leading the Offense for the Nashville Predators This Season

Defenseman Roman Josi is leading the charge for the Predators as he is tied for 17th in the NHL in points and eighth in the league in assists as he has posted 62 points (15 goals, 47 assists) while also adding nine points in his previous five games. The offense being provided by Josi is leading to a good stretch of scoring as they are averaging 3.14 goals on 29.4 shot attempts. Defensively, Nashville is doing pretty well also as goaltender Juuse Saros is 28-18-3 with 2.44 GAA and a .923 save percentage.

Philadelphia Flyers winger Cam Atkinson as he has recorded 44 points (21 goals, 23 assists), including five points in his previous five games. He needs the rest of the offense to improve around him as the Flyers are scoring just 2.50 goals on 30.5 shot attempts. Goalie Carter Hart is struggling a bit as he is sitting at 11-19-6 with a 2.94 GAA and a .912 save percentage up to this point. The Flyers as a whole need to improve drastically if they want to attempt to keep this unit together, otherwise, players like Claude Giroux may be on the move at the trade deadline.

Nashville Predators at Philadelphia Flyers Betting Prediction

Philadelphia is struggling a bit inside of the Wells Fargo Center this season as they are just 11-15-5 so far and that is going to continue to be a tough thing to overcome with this roster. Cam Atkinson is a nice complimentary player but the roster is not good enough as it is currently constituted to compete against a team like Nashville. The Predators have been doing well offensively as they have scored at least four goals in three of the previous four games.

The Flyers are currently 28-30 against the spread so far this season while the Predators are 33-25 against the spread. Go with the Nashville Predators, as the better team this season, to cover the puck line on the road against an inferior Philadelphia Flyers team.
