The NBA Finals are here, and this year we are looking at another great matchup. The two final teams are the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat. In the end, both teams are able to make NBA history, if they were to clench an NBA Championship.
This is the first time that the Denver Nuggets have made it to the NBA Finals. If they were to win against the Heat, it would be their first-ever NBA Championship title in the franchise’s history. On the other hand, if the Heat were to win, they would be the first eight seed to win the NBA Championship ever. With big things on the line for both teams, this is sure to be a great matchup.
Victory for Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets have put in the work to get to the NBA Championship, and it’s the first year they have ever made it. With that being said, they have some amazing players that have gotten them where they are today.
Arguably one of the best players in the league is Nikola Jokic, whose size and strength are apparent. He is joined by his co-star, Jamal Murray as well as many other supporting players.
If the Nuggets are wanting a chance at victory, they will need to contain Jimmy Butler on the Miami Heat. Our suggestion is that they have Aaron Gordon guarding him. Since Jimmy has some of the best footwork in the paint, it will be important to make sure he doesn’t make it to the free-throw line. In this case, single coverage on Jimmy Butler might be the key.
Victory for Miami Heat
For the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler is clearly one of their best players. However, the Heat also have many more players that are helpful.
In order for the Miami Heat to take home the title, we think that they need to stay attached to the shooter. They also need to watch Jokic and try to block his passes to other players on the team. We might even suggest that Miami double-teams Jokic since there is no one that will have enough power to guard him. When doing this thought, they will have to watch to see when he passes. In the end, they will not be able to block all of his shoots.
Currently, the Heat and the Nuggts are tied since each team has gotten one victory. All in all, this will be an interesting NBA Final to watch and history will be made no matter what the outcome is.
