Tennessee Volunteers at Memphis Tigers Saturday, December 18, 2021

We saw a couple of big games this past weekend and some really high-intensity games. We had a few upsets this past week and a ton of really good games. The conference slate is starting to creep into the picture for a majority of teams, and now is when the real basketball gets underway. 

This is going to be a very good week of basketball leading up to the holiday. There are a few really good conference matchups this week. If we have learned anything so far is that no team is safe this year.

We will take a look at five games from this upcoming week and break down the matchup and who has the edge coming into the game.

In-State Rivalry #13 Tennessee Volunteers at Memphis Tigers

A big in-state rivalry game finds us on Saturday as the Tennessee Volunteers visit the Memphis Tigers. Tennessee is ranked #13 in the country and sits at 6-2 on the year. Memphis is 5-3 this year but has recently lost three games in a row to really solid teams. 

Anything can happen in rivalry games, and this game should be no different. Look for both of these teams to come out fired up and looking to get off to a very quick start. 

Tennessee will be led by Kennedy Chandler, who scores 15.3 points a game. Memphis will be led by Emoni Bates, who scores 11.5 points a game. Look for both of these players to elevate their games for this big in-state rivalry. I lean Tennessee to take this one on the road.
