NCAA Men’s Basketball: Who is on the Outside of AP Poll

NCAA Basketball Associated Press Top 25 Update

The AP Top 25 poll for men’s college basketball is officially available. There was a lot of movement this week compared to previous weeks, and we have our first back-to-back week of change at the top since Baylor took over the top spot six weeks ago.

There was also quite a bit of movement within the Top 10, and we also saw some big drops, and two new programs entered the fray this week. We take a look at all of that and more below in this week’s AP Poll Top 25 Update.

Who is on the Outside?

The following teams received votes and are looking to make their way into the Top 25 quickly: BYU 120, Alabama 77, Texas 61, Colorado State 57, Florida State 50, Loyola Chicago 21, Oregon 19, Wake Forest 12, Murray State 10, Indiana 10, Iowa 8, TCU 6, Miami 4, Saint Mary’s 3, Boise State 3, Florida 3, Wyoming 2, Seton Hall 1, Iona 1. These teams are the teams who are next in line if a team within the Top 25 drops a game.

BYU has the best shot to move in as they are just 12 points behind Davidson for that #25 spot. Alabama has a big week ahead, and if they are able to grab a few wins, they could easily move into the Top 25.

A dark horse here is Iowa as they host #6 Purdue this week. A win in that game, and they could jump into the Top 25.
