The Gophers’ offense struggled to establish a ground game, finishing with just 79 rushing yards on 21 attempts. Darius Taylor led the team in rushing with 34 yards on 10 carries.

Michigan Offense Breakdown

Michigan’s offense was powered by their ground game in their 27-24 win over USC, as they rushed for 291 yards and three touchdowns. The Wolverines finished with 323 total yards and 12 first downs. Their passing game was limited to 32 yards on 7 completions from Alex Orji.

Kalel Mullings was the standout rusher for Michigan, gaining 159 yards on 17 carries and scoring two touchdowns. Marlin Klein was the leading receiver, with one catch for 10 yards.

Minnesota Team Defense

Minnesota’s defense will be looking to bounce back after giving up 334 total yards to Iowa in their last game. The Gophers were particularly vulnerable against the run, allowing 272 yards and four rushing touchdowns. They did, however, hold Iowa to just 62 passing yards on 11 completions, but the Hawkeyes only attempted 19 passes.
