Saints vs Falcons
Despite leading 3-0 after the 1st quarter, the Saints fell to the Eagles by a score of 15-12, dropping their record to 2-1 for the season. The Saints missed a good opportunity to win this one, as they didn’t allow the Eagles to take the lead until there was just over a minute left in the 4th quarter. New Orleans was favored by -2.5 points, and with the 3-point loss, they also failed to cover the spread.
After the Eagles took a 7-3 lead in the 3rd quarter with a 65-yard touchdown run by Saquon Barkley, the Saints added a field goal early in the 4th. Then, with 2:10 remaining, Derek Carr found Chris Olave for a touchdown, putting the Saints up 12-7. Unfortunately for New Orleans, Barkley scored his second touchdown of the game with just 1:05 left, and the Saints’ offense couldn’t respond.
Despite leading 14-13 at halftime, the Falcons dropped their week three non-conference game to the Chiefs, 22-17, and are now 1-2 for the season. Atlanta initially took the lead with a touchdown from Kirk Cousins to Drake London in the first quarter. However, the Chiefs tied it up in the 2nd quarter, and Atlanta responded with another touchdown from Cousins to Kyle Pitts, putting them up 14-7. The Chiefs closed the gap to 14-13 with a field goal before halftime.
Atlanta didn’t score in the 3rd quarter, while the Chiefs added a field goal and a touchdown. The Falcons did manage a field goal in the 4th quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Chiefs.
