The NFL is back! The first games of the season kicks off on Thursday night, and the rest of the weekend’s matchups are sure to be exciting. There are a lot of questions heading into this season: Can Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers lead their teams to the playoffs? Will the Dallas Cowboys finally live up to their potential? What will Jimmy Garoppolo do in San Francisco? We’ll find out the answers to these questions and more over the next few months. In the meantime, let’s take a look at some of the matchups for week 1.
NFL Regular Season Week 1 Betting Outlook
It’s the first week of regular season action in the NFL, and we anticipate some incredible games.
Today we’re going to take a look at each of these games and make our picks.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Washington Commanders – September 11, 2022 12:00pm CST
As one of the worst teams last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to rebuild. They fired former head coach Urban Meyer and are under Doug Pederson now. Pederson is the same coach that led the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl win.
The Jaguars will face the Washington Commanders, who have a new quarterback under center. Carson Wentz is attempting to revamp his career and has a few new weapons as well. We expect a big game from Terry McLaurin and Carson Wentz, earning Washington a win.
Cleveland Browns vs. Carolina Panthers – September 11, 2022 12:00pm CST
This is an interesting game as there are several things the Browns do well. However, they have Jacoby Brissett under center, which means they’ll run the ball a lot on Sunday. Nick Chubb is a workhorse but you can only run the ball for so long.
The Carolina Panthers and former Browns QB Baker Mayfield are looking forward to this game. The Panthers have a few players on offense giving them the edge, including RB Christian McCaffrey. Look for the Panthers to win this game and cover the 2.5-point spread.
