NFL Week 1 Recap

The first week of the NFL was full of action, along with a few upsets. Certain games that were considered “locks” ended up falling through the cracks, while others went according to plan. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite games of the week during this NFL Week 1 recap.

Buffalo Bills vs. Los Angeles Rams – 31-10

The first game to go over is how the Buffalo Bills dominated the Rams 31-10 on Thursday night. This game featured Josh Allen throwing for 297 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 56 yards as well. The Bills’ defense was all over the Los Angeles Rams, putting tons of pressure on Matthew Stafford. 

Stafford ended the night going 29-41, throwing 240 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. As a team, the Rams only earned 19 first downs on the night. It was a showcase of talent by the Bills which resulted in handing the Super Bowl champions their first loss.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals – 23-20

The upset of the entire week was the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers came into this game as seven-point underdogs.

The game was decided with a 53-yard field goal by Chris Boswell. However, let’s not forget that Mitch Trubisky went 21-38, with 194 yards and a touchdown. Helping him out was WR Pat Freiermuth, who has 75 receiving yards.

The Bengals couldn’t get their feet underneath them the entire game. Joe Burrow was under pressure on what seemed like each snap. It’s clear that the offensive line will again be an issue for the Bengals going forward. Their next game against the Dallas Cowboys should be a similar matchup.
