NFL Regular Season Week 16 Betting Outlook

We are seeing many teams getting ready for the playoffs as we head into the final weeks of the NFL regular season. Some teams are starting to take the lead, while others fall into the background. 

This next week, there are many games that are up in the air. You never know what will happen heading into each game. Many times, the underdogs can surprise you and come out ahead.

It is Week 16, with just three more weeks of regular season football on the schedule. The games mean more, the wins and losses are now deciding playoff spots, and the intensity of the betting is at a season-high. Here are the NFL matchups for Christmas weekend.

Buffalo Bills at Chicago Bears – Saturday, December 24th, 2022 1:00pm CST 

The Bills are in the playoffs, and the Bears are likely going to be picking in the top five in next year’s NFL Draft. The disparity between these two teams is evident in the point spread, which is Buffalo -9.5.

Chicago just covered a similar spread against the Eagles, the current top seed in the NFC. Can they do it again against the AFC’s current top seed? If Justin Fields continues his march to the NFL record for rushing yards by a quarterback, perhaps. However, Fields has lost his last six starts.

New Orleans Saints at Cleveland Browns – Saturday, December 24th, 2022 1:00pm CST 

The NFL wants parity, and it has it. The Saints are 5-9, and the Browns are 6-8, and both teams are still in the playoff hunt with just three games left. The Saints have the easier path to the playoffs, just one game out in the NFC South. The Browns, however, are -3.5-point favorites for Saturday’s game.

This is expected to be one of the lowest-scoring games of the weekend. The total points line is just 34.5. The Browns have gone UNDER in their last four games. The Saints have gone UNDER in six of their last seven.
