NFL Regular Season Week 17 Betting Outlook

You never know what will happen heading into each NFL game, since they are often a toss-up.  Many times, the underdogs can surprise you and come out ahead.

Only two weeks remain in the NFL season, and we are down to just a handful of playoff spots remaining. However, there are still four division titles to hand out, top seeds to secure, and 24 teams still in the running for a postseason berth.

The intensity is high, and the betting is the best of the season.

Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Sunday, January 1st, 2023 12:00 pm CST 

When the Panthers fired Matt Rhule, they looked like the worst team in the NFL. The move to Baker Mayfield was a bust, and it looked like they were a team in need of tearing it all down. So much so that they traded away their best player, Christian McCaffery.

Yet here we are in Week 17, and if the Panthers win their last two games, they are champions of the NFC South and will host a playoff game. The Bucs are the defending division champions and favored to win this game by 5.5 points, but the Panthers are coming off a big win over the Lions.

Cleveland Browns at Washington Commanders – Sunday, January 1st, 2023 12:00 pm CST 

The Browns have been eliminated from the playoffs, but the Commanders are currently in the postseason by just a half-game. And with four teams sitting behind them by that half-game, Washington cannot lose. At least one of the teams chasing them is going to win. A Commanders’ loss this week, and they will fall out of the postseason.

The Commanders are favored by less than a field goal (-2.5), so expect this matchup to come down to the final possession of the game.
