NFL Regular Season Week 18 Betting Outlook
Week 18 in the NFL has arrived, with several teams still making a push toward the playoffs. One playoff spot remains to be decided in each conference, and several games will determine the seedings when the playoffs begin in less than two weeks. Many teams will rest players this week in preparation for the postseason, while others will do the same to ensure their top players are healthy heading into next season.
This means that the betting lines for Week 18 will move around while teams determine who will be in and out of their lineups in the final game of the regular season. However, with the top seed yet to be decided in both conferences, top teams like the Chiefs, Bengals, and Bills in the AFC and the 49ers, Eagles, and Cowboys in the NFC are battling for the top spot and a first-round bye. There’s also a chance to find value in this week’s betting lines based on the early odds for this week.
So, with that, let’s take a look at our week 18 betting outlook.
Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars – Saturday, January 7th, 7:15 pm CST
The Jacksonville Jaguars host the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night to decide the AFC South title. Neither team had to win their games in Week 17, as the only way either could make the postseason was by winning this final regular season matchup.
The Jags are 8-8 and have won five straight games, including a 36-22 victory over the Titans four weeks ago. Jacksonville is 8-8 against the spread and has covered in four consecutive games, three of them as the underdog.
Tennessee is 7-9 and was once the number-one seed in the AFC. Since a season stretch where they went 7-1 and 8-0 against the spread, they’ve lost six straight games, with their offense averaging 14.8 points per game during the losing streak. Last week, they were 13.5-point underdogs to the Dallas Cowboys at home and just failed to cover the spread, losing 27-13. However, the Jags are out in front, at -303, and will take another win.
Kansas City Chiefs vs Las Vegas Raiders – Saturday, January 7st 3:20 pm CST
The Chiefs are on top of the AFC East at 13-3 and aren’t slowing down. This is going to be a lopsided contest, with the Raiders only giving brief moments of an above-average performance. Kansas City is in front at -417, and this line won’t move much this week.
